Amy and Lisa... who else

We should chill maybe once before school starts.

This 2010 Tour de France was EPIC to say the least. From stage wins to sprint points to the overall winner Alberto Contador. His only rival after two and a half weeks on a bike…Andy Schleck.

My pick for next year's tour...then again I picked him this year.

The flat sprinting stages however were dominated by the big 3. Thor Hushovd, Alesandro Patachi, and Mark “The Manx Missle” Cavendish.
Mark lost the green jersey competition for giving up one stage in the tour.

Fastest sprinter in the world on a bike

I enjoy watching the three weeks of bicycle racing, but only because of my DVR. That thing is the best invention and if you don’t have one. Well then you should go get one for christmas or something. They are seriously a life changer… In a positive way.

But back to the tour… Contador rode an awesome time trial and earned himself the victory fair and square. He was simply the better man.

2010 Champion

This past week, I attended a camp in Madison, WI for Ultimate.

It was the best week of my summer thus far. Here is just some of what I learned while attending the Next Level Ultimate Camp

    1. Day 1: Throwing to Space and Making Good Cuts

Stop 3-4 step cuts, get all of your cuts to 10 steps in one direction.
Throw n’ Go—Stop watching your throw
Throwing to space on deep throws- Flat throws not bendy

    1. Day 2: Stepping OUT on Throws, Clearing Hard, Good 2nd Cuts

If you are cutting and not going 80-100% then CLEAR.
      Pancake Catches
Step around defender by stepping out after fake.

    1. Day 3: Defense, Marking–Good Hands, Staying on Underside

Cover 50% of field with the body, cover 50% with the legs

Hand on hip playing defense—get that close
Stay under until there is an UP call
Listen to sidelines for UP call
Marking: Be small with kicks, don’t extend hands completely, bend in knees and shuffle, upright torso.

    1. Day 4: Handler Movement & Cutting–Swing! Throwing DEEP–IO!

      Dump and Swing as handlers.

When hucking… grip disc hard, step out, weight your non-pivot foot, use opposite hand to balance.

    1. Day 5: You Need Swagger! — Hector

All good teams have it, you need to reach a level of Ultimate where other teams know you are good just by stepping out on the field.
