Taking a whole month break from blogging was partly because my analytics was broken, partly because I was so dang busy!!!

The first weekend in January I was up in Steamboat Lake, Colorado where my youth group Boulder County K-Life went on a snowmobiling retreat. We played boardgames and went sledding for three days as we enjoyed the mountain lake. The snow was knee deep in some spots! Photographer Ben Fullerton took photos all weekend.

After I got back, school was kickin my butt! I had to get focused so the blog wasn’t a top priority. Now I have revamped the theme a little bit so I can start advertising and affiliate marketing.

The next weekend I was in Vail tearin up the slopes with fresh face shots all day! My Uncle, Dad, and I telemarked around Vail all day finding the freshest tracks on every slope.

Sunday January 24...Pure Bliss

Now that its the end of January I am off to the mountains yet again. This time my adventures bring me to the X-Games in Aspen. I will be leaving tomorrow morning and returning Sunday night.

Another AWESOME thing about this week is that Ultimate Frisbee started! Our team Monarch Ultimate Frisbee is gonna take state this year. Look for my future posts profiling characters within the team.

Christmas eve was one of the coldest ski days I have ever had at Breckenridge.

Despite the cold temperatures, My Dad and I braved the wind chill of negative twenty five and had powder soft runs all day.

The first run was half groomed, half untouched soft. Starting the day on peak seven’s rolling terrain was a nice warm-up on my G3 Rapid Transit telemark skis.

It wasn’t the nice foot of powder I would have liked; but it was drifting in some places close to 8 inches. This drifting also ment that some places had nothing but rock hard ice. “Variable conditions” would describe the day better than “powder” yet I was still able to find face shots.

The top of the T-Bar was so brutally cold that I could only take three trips up, with breaks in-between.

Being on Christmas eve, I managed to even find Santa on a lift. This was a great way to spend the day before Christmas for me.

….OF ROCKIES FEVER!

I can’t wait to go to another game next week, and watch them take on Albert Pujols and the St. Louis Cardinals.

This year has been a special one for the Rockies. They have been playing clean, unselfish baseball as a unit, not as individuals. Hitting sacrifice fly balls or laying down the sacrifice bunt when called upon are two of the things that the Rockies are doing often and efficiently.

Every player called upon off of the bench, whether it be Eric Young Jr. hitting his first home run in his first start last night, Jason Giambi coming up big with 4 RBI’s in his first 3 games in Rockies uniform as a pinch hitter, or Ryan Spilborghs HUGE 14th inning grand slam.

All of these players have given the already good Rockies a stellar boost heading into September. We only need to stay ahead in the wild card, and possibly even take the NL West from the Dodgers.

The only thing that is preventing them from pulling ahead of L.A. at this point are the key injuries that the ball club has sustained. Our biggest loss this late in the season is Huston Street, who has saved all but one of his save opportunities. Another late injury is Troy Tulowitzki out with back strains, but he should be back soon. Dexter Fowler returns tonight I believe after hitting a foul ball into his knee…ouch!

When the Rockies have had these injuries, other guys on the team have stepped in and stepped up to keep us in this pennant race.

This team has given me a reason to watch baseball! They play solid defense and are usually hot when swinging the bat, especially Yorvit Torrealba, on a career high 16 game hitting streak right now.

Frisbee is still my favorite sport, but with a DVR I will definately be tuning in to the Rockies all September long.
